Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555, ---- Elizabeth C. "Miss Libby" Caraway 88 year old Vinita resident, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 23, 2015. She was born on July 26, 1927 in Cherokee, Alabama to James Emil Carter and Ora Phoebe (Elliott) Carter. Miss Libby married the love of her life, J. R. Caraway on May 25, 1946 in Rome, Georgia. She worked with J. R. at Caraway's TV Sales and Service in Nashville, Tennessee until 1972, then she went to work for Cherry Cattle Company as their office manager and bookkeeper for 43 years. Working for Cherry's brought her and J. R. to Vinita. Miss Libby loved to shop, sometimes returning things she bought just so she could go to the store again. She was a perfectionist, very neat and orderly, even folded her dirty laundry. Most of all Miss Libby loved her family and going to church, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vinita. Preceding her in death were here parents; a daughter, Debra Darlene Moore; siblings, James Emil Carter, Jr., Ralph Carter and Jewell Greene. The family includes: her husband, J. R. of Vinita; a son, William Roy Caraway (Cathy) of Mt. Juliet, TN; daughter, Susan Joy Cherry (Dean) of Vinita; five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The graveside will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 11:00 am, at the family cemetery north of Vinita. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
