Morris Dean Woodroof, age 93, passed away Sunday March 22, 2020 at the Grandwood Sunrise Village, Grove, Ok.

He was born May 6, 1926 in Parsons, Kansas to Glen and Edree (Beryl) Woodroof. He was raised by his father and step-mother, Della in the Raytown, MO area. Dean had five siblings: Jack, Lawrence, and Bobbie, now deceased; and Ron Woodroof, Jay, OK; and Carolyn Strobel, Belton, MO; who survive.    Dean graduated from Parsons High School in 1944. During his senior year, Dean went to work for the M-K-T (Katy) Railroad. On November 14, 1945 He married Betty Clayton in Parsons, Kansas.  Shortly after their marriage, Dean was inducted into the U.S. Army where he served in the Counter Intelligence Corps.

After the service, Dean went back to work for the Katy Railroad and remained with them until his retirement in 1987, living in both Parsons and Denison, TX.  During this time, he also completed two years of college and graduated in 1959 from Parsons Junior College. He and Betty were married for 69 years before her death in 2015. Dean was a member of Waples Memorial United Methodist Church in Denison, and belonged to the Fraternal Order of the Masons. Dean is survived by his four daughters and their husbands: Cassandra and David Pina, Deanna and Robert Burton, Jennifer and Tony Winter, and Nancy and Jeff Gough. Dean had 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
