Nellie Johnston

ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK - Nellie Mae Johnston, age 62 and lifelong resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Nellie Mae Moland was born on August 4, 1952 in Bartlesville. She was the daughter of George Robert Moland and Flora Ann (Boltz) Moland. She received her early education in Bartlesville, graduating with the Sr. Class of 1970. She furthered her education by attaining her bachelor's degree in early education. Nellie was a substitute teacher in the Bartlesville public school system for many years before her health prevented her from working. Nellie and Tommy Leo Johnston were united in marriage on January 30, 1972 in Bartlesville. They were married for 35+ years prior to Tommy's death in 2007. Nellie had continued her residence in the family home in Bartlesville. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Bartlesville, where she was a very active member. Nellie was always doing for others, never thinking of herself, but always thinking of what she could do to help others. She will be dearly missed by her family and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommy; and her granddaughter, Amethyst White. She is survived by her son, Tommy Leo Johnston, Jr. of Bartlesville; and her daughter, Margie Ann Deason and her husband, James, also of Bartlesville. The family invites friends for an informal visitation and final goodbye to Nellie on Tuesday, from 3-5:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave. After this visitation, cremation will take place. On Wednesday, at 11:00 AM, a memorial service will be held in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home chapel. Inurnment of the cremains will follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery.
