Norma Flowers

March 16, 1925 — October 30, 2012

Norma L. Flowers went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, October 30, 2012 Norma was born in Butler, Missouri on March 16, 1925 to Melvin Henry Walker and Grace Fennewald Walker. Norma's family moved from Missouri to Parsons, Kansas when she was twelve years old. Norma finished her education in Parsons and went to work for the Kansas Ordinance Plant. In 1945 Norma was visiting a relative in Kountze, Texas, when she met the love of her life, Charles Watson Flowers. A long distance relationship began, and after corresponding for a year and a half, and occasionally seeing each other, Norma and Charles were married in 1947. To this marriage two children were born, Carrol LaVon and Charles David. Norma enjoyed sewing and quilting. Her specialty in later years was being "Mom Flowers" to many different people who needed a mother. She and Charles often had families in their home for extended amounts of time. This was one way Norma and Charles could express their love of Christ and people. Norma's husband Charles predeceased her as well as one grandson, one great grandson and two sisters. She is survived by daughter Carrol Borton and husband Wendel of Grove, son David and his wife Barbie of Fairland. She is also survived by one sister, Barbara and husband Glen Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews and all those that have the privilege of calling her "Mom." She was a faithful servant of The Most High God and knew Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. It has been her privilege to hear Jesus say "well done my good and faithful servant" and she now enjoys glory with her husband Charles and many others that have gone before her.
