Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home - Langley - 918-256-5555 O. D. "Darell" Strait, 89 year old Tulsa resident, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014. Darell was born in Seneca, MO on November 24, 1924 to Hugh and Georgia (Yocum) Strait. He proudly served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He attended and graduated from Tulsa University with a Bachelor's degree. He worked for many years as an insurance agent. On May 9, 1980 he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Jones. Darell loved spending time with his family, was an avid reader and history buff, enjoyed traveling with his good friends the Gibbons family, and enjoyed playing golf and watching sports. Survivors include his wife Mary, grandchildren: Justin Kaczynski and Kayla Cooper, and great grandchildren: Makannah and Kamber, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, children: Steve Strait, Sam Strait, and Pam Cooper, brother Delmar Strait, and grandson Cody Cooper. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Bradford officiating. Interment and military rites will follow at Carselowey Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home.
