Odie Swift

Odie Darrell Swift, Sr., age 78 of Vinita, died Monday, October 24, 2011. Odie was born on April 19, 1933 in Barnsdall, OK the son of Charlie and Emma (Starr) Swift. In 1955 he enlisted in the United States Army serving until 1957. Odie worked as a truck driver for Elliott Trucking numerous years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a member of the VFW. Survivors include his wife, Darlene Swift of the home, children Odie Swift Jr. and wife Debbie of Tulsa, Kevin Swift and wife Cindy of Sapulpa, Jackie Jones and husband Jimmy of Bernice, and John Swift and wife Pam of Vinita, brother, John Wesley Swift of Sapulpa, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ima Joe Knoten, and granddaughter Leah Fawn Jones. Memorial services will be 1p.m., Friday, October 28, 2011 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eddie Wrinkle officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
