Pamela Freeman

Pamela Jean Freeman 58, of Nowata went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2008. Funeral services for Pamela Freeman are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Trinity Full Gospel Church with Rev. John Wilson and Rev. Jim Winslow officiating. Final committal rites will be accorded Mrs. Freeman in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata. Arrangements are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Home. Pamela Jean was born on August 14, 1950 in Broken Arrow to Palmer Eli and Gloria Marie (Roy) Martin. She graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1968. Pam was the Salutatorian of her graduating class and she was a member of the Honor Society, the Band III, and the French club as well as the FHA Queen. Shortly after her graduation she married Samuel D. Freeman on September 21, 1968. In 1971 Pam and Sammy moved to Nowata and made Nowata their home for the past 37 years. She was the owner and operator of Pam's Daycare for several years. She was an active member of the community; she was a member of the Boys and Girls Club; she served on the Chamber Board; she assisted DHS, and she spread the church ministry to the Nursing Home residences. Pam was welcome at several churches around town; she loved the Lord and she wanted to spread the word and love of Jesus Christ to everyone. She was a very talented singer who often enjoyed singing in the church choir and with her granddaughter. Pam was an excellent reader and most often had a book in her hand, she enjoyed scrap booking and going on cruise liners. Pam had her associate's degree in early childhood education and along with Gloria Adams they decided to work toward their bachelor's degrees together. She is survived by her 2 sons Kenneth and his wife Wende Freeman of Nowata, and Jason Freeman of Nowata, her husband Sammy Freeman of Nowata, 4 grandchildren Ryan and Kassidy Freeman and Zachary Seth and Addyson Freeman all of Nowata, 2 brothers Larry Martin of Mounds, and Michael Martin of Holdenville, and 1 sister Kathy Williams of Broken Arrow, and 1 especially close friend Terri Bartholomew, numerous nieces, nephews and a town of friends. Pam was preceded in death by her mother Gloria Martin and an infant sister Deborah Gayle. Visitation for Mrs. Freeman will be at Benjamin Funeral Home: Monday, November 17, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Pam's name can be made to the Nowata Fire Department.
