Paul Hicks

Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma - 918-273-2700................................................... Paul Hubert Hicks, 90, passed away Tuesday, October 24th, 2017 at the Osage Nursing Home in Nowata. He was born April 20th, 1927 in Childers, OK to Walter and Eva Jane (Adamson) Hicks. Paul attended Childers' school. On June 25th, 1945 he enlisted in the United States Army where he served as a Sergeant in Germany. He returned to the United States on October 10th, 1946 and was discharged on November 30th, 1946. He returned to the Nowata area where he married the love of his life, Roberta Ryan, on June 8th, 1947. He worked as a welder in the oil field industry and loved to tinker in his garage. He could fix almost anything. Paul loved to dance, and his wife remembers going to Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, where they would dance the night away. Paul loved pulling pranks on Roberta, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Paul loved his family and enjoyed playing Santa for his grandchildren. He also loved eating out and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Paul was a member of the Eagles #610 in Bartlesville and had attended the First Church of God of Nowata. Paul is survived by his wife, Roberta of the home; three children, Margie Ogden and husband Phil of Nowata, Charles Hicks and wife Debbie of Talala, Judy Duggan and husband Rick of Ponca City. Two sisters; Lorene Corle and Ruby Collier; six grandchildren, Tracy Duggan and wife Belyn, Ben Duggan and wife Kesha, Kristi Spurgeon and close friend Larry Malaske, Candy Fite and husband David, Ryan Hicks and wife Jamie and Penny Hart; twelve great- grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Eva Jane; siblings, Walter Hicks, Vernon Hicks, Howard Hicks, Delbert Hicks, Jim Hicks, Ancil Hicks, Wendell Hicks, Jewell Loughry, Evelyn Hughes, Nelsene Hicks, and Eva Jane Green. Paul will be missed by all who knew him.
