Phillip Alspach

January 27, 1942 — July 6, 2006

Phillip Lynn Alspach, 64-year-old Delaware resident, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. Mr. Alspach was born on January 27, 1942 in his grandmother's house in Delaware, Oklahoma to Howard Alspach and Zelma Munnsinger-Alspach. Mr. Alspach attended schools in Chanute, Kansas through the fourth grade when his parents moved to the Delaware area. He graduated from the Delaware High School and from there went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. While in the service, Mr. Alspach was stationed in Tennessee and in California for a period of four years. During his four years he was responsible for servicing safety equipment on airplanes. Mr. Alspach married Alice Faye Callison and the two located in Delaware and have called it home ever since. After his service with the Marines, Mr. Alspach began working in the oil fields. He worked for Forrest Oil and later for Reda Pump. He retired from the oil field industry in June of 2004. Retirement, however, did not slow Mr. Alspach down. He continued working on his farm operating a cow/calf operation and also enjoyed some time traveling with his wife. Mr. Alspach was an avid outdoorsman. He was known to take annual hunting trips with his sons. They had just recently returned from a hunting trip to the Kiamichi Mountains. Mr. Alpsach loved hunting for deer, elk, and had recently added hog hunting to his list of favorite big game animals. Mr. Alspach was also known to be very handy with machinery and always thought, "Everything needed to be done right." Mr. Alspach enjoyed so many things in life, but perhaps some of the most enjoyable times he had were spent with family during their holiday get-togethers. Mr. Alspach is survived by his wife, Alice Faye Alspach of the home; by two sons, Timmie Alspach and his wife Debbie of Nowata and William Alspach of Hugoton, Kansas; by a daughter, Lorie Murphy and her husband Paul of Bartlesville; by a brother, Danny Alspach and his wife Margie of Delaware; by two grandchildren, Shannon Cooper and her husband Barry of Bartlesville and Tony Callison of the US Marine Corps in Camp Johnson, North Carolina; and by one great-granddaughter, Brooke Nicole Taylor. Mr. Alspach was preceded in death by his parents; by one daughter, Phyllis Lynn Alspach; and by one brother, Johnny Alspach.
