Raymond Edward Parrish, 85, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2022, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
He was born on January 18, 1937, to Eldon Leo Parrish and Ruth Katherine (Stith) Parrish in Nowata, OK.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Ruth and his sister, Patty Fry.
Survivors include his wife; Joyce of the home, his daughters; Jeri Kulchinski and husband, Ray of Nowata, OK, Jamie Gaskill and husband, Sam of Bartlesville, OK, and Joanna Cotton and husband, Del of Bartlesville, OK, his grandchildren; Chad Kulchinski and wife, Christina, Shelbi Kulchinski, Anthony Gaskill and wife, Jen, Nick Gaskill and wife, Albanie, Brandon Cotton, and Bryce Cotton, his great-granddaughters; Madison Kulchinski and Kennedy Durham, his nieces; Karen Watkins and Sharon Frauenberger, his nephews; Keith Wyrick, Matt Gregory, and Cannon Gregory.
On July 21, 1962, he married Joyce Wyrick. The couple raised their family in Nowata. Ray lived with a strong work ethic. At the age of 16, he asked his mother to sign papers, so he could join the National Guard. While attending high school, he worked for the Leaders Store in Nowata. Upon graduating from Nowata High School in 1955, he hired on with Phillips Petroleum Company for 32 years. He worked at the Uranium plant in Grants, NM and at the Research Center in Bartlesville, OK.
He loved bluegrass music, camping, and wood carving. Ray absolutely loved visiting with people, and he never met a stranger. He also enjoyed working in his garage.
He loved his wife, his girls, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much.
Funeral services for Raymond will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 10 am at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Wendell Abbott officiating. Interment will follow at the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
