Robert Leslie Boswell, 59, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at his home in Nowata. He was born July 28, 1957 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Leo and Betty Jo (Badley) Boswell. In 1977, Robert moved to the Nowata area from Sugarland, Texas. He attended Vinita Schools and on April 15, 1993 he married Tina May in Miami, Oklahoma. Robert worked for Nowata County for the past several years. He enjoyed sitting on his porch enjoying the day. Robert loved spending time with his children and grandchildren as well as watching westerns on TV with the kids. In 1972, he appeared in the August edition of National Geographic for an article on the Will Rogers Rodeo in Vinita. Robert will be missed by all who knew him. Mr. Boswell is survived by his wife Tina of the home; two children, Maygen Smith, Jacob Smith; daughter-in-law, Venus Smith; six siblings, Gary Boswell of Nowata, Oklahoma, Larry Boswell of Rogers County, Oklahoma, Rocky Boswell of Rogers County, Oklahoma, Mae Meeks of Mcpherson, Kansas, Deana Sprauge of Nowata, Oklahoma, Pam Tankcread of Nowata, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Paris Smith, Caley Boswell, Madison Boswell, Eli Boswell, Gibson Smith, Layne Blanke. Robert is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Betty Boswell; three siblings, Judy Weaver, Donna Boswell, Betty Lou Boswell.
