Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK....918-786-2261.... Robert (Bob) Sherman Kennedy entered his eternal home on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the age of 88. Bob was born on June 7, 1926 in Afton, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Ross and Eva Kennedy. Bob married Joyce Halliburton on January 1, 1949, living in Tulsa and working at Sinclair Oil Company at that time. In 1967, he bought Reardon's Dry Goods Store in Jay, Oklahoma which was changed to Kennedy's Food Market. In 1977, he moved to Tulsa working for Affiliated Food Stores as a buyer. In 1978, Bob married Sheila Jobe. They owned and operated the Welcome Inn in Grove, Oklahoma and later built the Kennedy Home Place in Grove. Bob's interests were gardening, water activities, woodworking, and family get-togethers. Bob is survived by his wife Sheila Kennedy, four daughters and spouses, Shelli and Mitchell Earp, Sherri and Jeff Taylor, Jill and Nate Long and Pam Kennedy Watts; two sons and spouses, Robert and Dena Kennedy and John and Kay Kennedy. Also surviving are grandchildren, Matthew Buzzard, Toby Buzzard, Michael Hudgens, Kimberly Summerfield, Cassi Graham, Keller Kennedy, Chelsee Bacon, Chance Long, Holly Kennedy, Heather Kennedy, Hannah Kennedy and thirteen great grandchildren along with six nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Coleman Kennedy and Montworth Kennedy, a sister, Eloise Snoddy, son-in-law Steve Watts and a grandson, Jeremy Graham. Services are being held at the Delaware Baptist Church on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 10:00 am with Rev. Jessie (Junior) Jones presiding. Pallbearers for Bob include Matthew Buzzard, Toby Buzzard, Michael Hudgens, Mitchell Earp, Jeff Taylor, Brian Meek, and Chance Long. Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Bacon, George Loveless, Nate Long, Don Kennedy and Jack Kennedy. The family will greet friends on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
