Roger Montgomery

Roger Michael "Mike" Montgomery, 55 year old Nowata resident passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa after a six month battle with leukemia. Mike Montgomery was born March 14, 1951 in Kermit, Texas to Roger William Montgomery and Wilma Lucille "Lucy" Newhouse-Montgomery. Mike attended and graduated from Nowata Schools. He went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. Mike became employed with ConocoPhillips in 1974 in the accounting department as a Senior Tax Analyst. He was later married to Christina on August 23, 1976. Mike enjoyed fishing and bowled every Thursday. He spent countless hours with his sons coaching basketball and baseball teams in both Nowata and in Collinsville over a period of 15 years. Mike was also quite proud of the 30 year award that he had recently received from ConocoPhillips. Mike is survived by his mother, Wilma Lucille "Lucy" Wall and her husband Carroll T. "Burney" Wall of Nowata; by two sons, M. Taylor Montgomery of Claremore and Reece William Montgomery of Collinsville; by his children's mother, Christina Young of Collinsville; by nieces, Megan and Laura McDonald of Santa Monica, California; as well as by numerous other nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
