Roy Vann

Jay, OK - Roy Vann, 71, died Thursday afternoon, October 5, 2006 at Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma. Roy Vann was born January 30, 1935 at Kenwood, Oklahoma to Cullers Vann and Susie (Wolf) Vann. He grew up in the Kenwood area and was a lifelong resident of Delaware County. Roy was a laborer and handyman, hiring himself out on various jobs for many different employers and contractors over the years. He was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Jay. Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Colston of Westville, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and many, many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church with Louis Ross and Cliff Loftis officiating. Interment will be in the Long Prairie Cemetery, Kansas, Oklahoma, under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay. A wake for Roy will be held Monday, starting at 7 p.m. at the home of his cousin, Roberta Smoke, of Kenwood.
