Ruby Blythe

Ruby J. (Becker) Blythe, age 86, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away April 27, 2011 at Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw, Oklahoma. Ruby was born on March 11, 1925 in Commerce, Oklahoma to Hugh A and Bessie (Henderson) Becker and raised in the Hickory Grove area where she attended Aurora School. She moved to California in the early 1940's and then to Oregon, returning to Afton, Oklahoma in 1980. She moved to Grove in 2005 and resided there until 2010 when she moved to Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw, Oklahoma. Ruby enjoyed family and her grandchildren, doll making, quilting, crocheting, going to yard sales and visiting with her many friends. She was active in the Hickory Grove Homemakers Club and the Hickory Grove Church. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husbands James "Ed" Jones, Wayne Tipton and Leo Blythe, three brothers, Merle Becker, Bill Becker and Wendle Becker all of Portland, Oregon. Ruby is survived by one son Edward "Bussy" Jones and his wife Judy of Miami, Oklahoma, three grandchildren Lori Hart and her husband Gaylen of Miami, Oklahoma, Jan Castell of Portland, Oregon and Mike Wood of Modesto, California, ten great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren, one sister Jewel Renfro of Grove, Oklahoma and three brothers Art Becker and his wife Martha of Fairland, Oklahoma, Arnold Becker and his wife Gloria of Portland, Oregon and Harold Becker and his wife Edna of Bucoda, Washington, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday April 30, 2011 at the Hickory Grove Church with Reverend Mel Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Gaylen Hart, Thomas Hart, Joseph Hart, Fred Chancellor, Jim Chancellor and Don Chancellor. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Hickory Grove Church in care of the funeral home.
