Davis was born February 20, 1925, in Childers, Oklahoma, to Oscar Franklin and Gladys Marie (Haiflich) Crupper. She passed from this life Tuesday, March 1, 2011, in Tulsa, at the OSU Medical Center. She was eighty six years old. Ruth attended the White Hill School and graduated as Valedictorian of Alluwe Schools. She enjoyed 7 years of playing basketball and was a part of a championship team in Alluwe. During WWII she worked as a Rosie the riveter building C-47's for McDonald Douglas Aircraft Company in Oklahoma City. On December 2, 1948 she married the love of her life, Billy L. Davis, in Alluwe, at the Crupper family home. They moved around with Billy's job and raised four sons. Throughout Ruth's life she worked several jobs, mostly service related and she really enjoyed serving the public. She never met a stranger and loved people. After Billy's retirement they began traveling. They loved taking bus excursions and traveled all over the United States and Alaska. She collected magnets from the different locations and had her refrigerator covered with them. She had a story and memory for each one. As her health failed her later in life her husband Billy stepped in to take care of her. The commitment they made sixty two years ago to love and cherish, in sickness and in health, were vows that they stood by teaching their children, grandchildren and others what true love is. Ruth will be missed by all but especially her husband and family. Preceding Mrs. Davis in death are her parents, Oscar and Gladys Crupper, a son, James Davis, two brothers, George and Wayne Crupper, and a sister, Vione Minnick. Survivors include, her loving husband, Billy, sons Billy Davis, and his wife Linda, Brian Davis, and his wife Janet, John Davis, and his wife Dana, grandchildren, Big Chris Holmes, Mike Pepe, Melissa Zeiler, Reed Davis, Little Chris Davis, Joey Davis, five great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
