Ruth Dugan

Ruth Ellen Dugan, age 76, a lifetime resident of the Vinita area died Sunday April 19, 2009 at her home. She was born February 24, 1933 in White Oak the daughter of Harry Heard and Elsie Harvey Heard. She was raised and received her education in White Oak and was of the Baptist Faith. Ruth and Roy Dugan were married in 1976 and made their home near Afton. Ruth worked as a mental health aide and enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, fishing and flower gardening. Ruth leaves behind three children, Donna Cannady of Ft. Smith, AR, John Cannady of Commerce, OK and Linda Hadley of Vinita, three sisters, Margie McDougal, Thelma Dear, Lola Brown, three brothers, Lonnie Heard, Homer Heard and Bob Heard, six grand children and eight great grand children and numerous nieces nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, John Cannady and Roy Dugan, her parents, brothers and sisters, Kathryn Sue Vaughn, Hebert Heard, Harry Heard Jr. Harry Coleman Heard and one grandson Christopher Gardner. Funeral services will be Friday April 24, 2009 at Luginbuel Funeral Home at 10:00 am with Pastor Justin Turner officiating with interment to follow in the White Oak Cemetery under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
