Sherry Joel (Inman) Diamond, 74, of Nowata, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home on April 14th, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Sherry was born June 15, 1946, in Nowata, Oklahoma, to Joel “Jay” ElKanah Inman and Sherlotta “Lottie” Virginia (Hendricks) Inman. She attended and graduated from Nowata High School with the class of 1964. Sherry married Jerry Diamond in October of 1964 in Miami, Oklahoma, and they had one daughter together, Terri (Diamond) Bartholomew. In 1982, they went their separate ways and remained friends. Sherry attended beauty college and was a self-employed hairdresser in Nowata for 56 years. She never met a stranger and was always willing to share a story to you or give you a good laugh. Sherry was a very giving woman and was the type that would give you the shirt off her back. In her spare time, she tended to her hobbies of coloring, jigsaw puzzles, decorating for all the holidays, and watching OU and Dallas Cowboy football games. She was also very fond of her treasured Pepsi product collection. Sherry loved drinking Pepsi and eating Reese’s peanut butter cups. The most important thing to her was spending time with her family, friends, pets, and spoiling her grandchildren. She loved her family unconditionally and will be missed by all who knew her.

Proceeding Sherry in death are her parents, Jay and Lottie Inman.

Survivors include her daughter, Terri Bartholomew and husband, Kelly of Nowata, OK; one sister, Lavonna Sherman and husband, Joe of Houston, TX; two grandchildren; Brandice Nicole Bartholomew of Nowata, OK, Casey Don Bartholomew and wife, Jessie of Nowata, OK; three great grandchildren; Karsyn Nicole Bartholomew, Riley Don Bartholomew, Tate Layne Bartholomew; one nephew Scott Sherman, many other relatives, and a host of friends.

There will be a family and friend visitation Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Benjamin Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at the Living Word Family Church in Nowata, OK, with Pastor Samantha Price officiating. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Services in Nowata, Oklahoma.
