Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com. Steven Glen Merrell, 55, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at his home in Oologah. He was born October 8, 1960 in Nowata to Bob Glen and Mary Virginia (Phillips) Merrell. Steven was a graduate of Oologah High School, Class of 1978 and had attended Platt College. He worked for Murphy Switch & Gauges, before making his career in the oil industry, working as a Procurement Manager for such firms as, Williams Bros., Bechtel Corp. and Oxy Petroleum, for over 20 years, retiring in 1995. Steve enjoyed yard work and fishing. He liked to work on mowers and any electronic gadgets. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Mary Merrell. He is survived by sister, Babbie Berryman of Oologah and special friend Trish St. John of Oologah; sister Tammy and husband Jeff Beene of Caddo Mills Tx.; a brother, Frank Oscar Merrell of Nashville, TN; five nieces and nephews, Brian Berryman, Kris Merrell, Alecia Beene, Amanda Beene, Kaleb Beene and great-nieces and nephews Kryslynn and Nathan Berryman and Easton Holloway. Memorials in Steven's name may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
