Susan Marie Amendolara, 62, of Grove passed away at 7:15 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016, after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer less than one month ago. She fought hard but lost her battle to the disease. She was born on June 5, 1953, in Wichita, Kansas, to Donald Ray and Marion Howard. She attended West High School in Wichita. She has lived in Grove for more than 40 years. She was the matriarch of the family, the glue that held everyone together. She was filled with love and compassion. The kind of love only few honestly have or know. She was an amazing and beautiful woman that loved her family and friends more than anything else. She enjoyed having big family gatherings, floating down the river and watching her grandchildren play. She also enjoyed a good, cold beer while cooking her famous meatballs and ronis. She also loved taking rides with her husband on their Harley. She was a long standing member of the Moose Lodge in Grove, where she was a professional mixologist for more than 20 years. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed. She married Danny Amendolara on May 11, 1981, in Miami. How she loved her Italian boy. He survives. Additional survivors include two sons: Mark Hulse of Grove and Daniel Amendolara and his wife, Ashli, of Grove; three daughters: Wanda Jackson and husband John of Grove, Dawn Marie Amendolara-Chavez and husband Toney Chavez of Fresno, California and Danielle Stoppler and husband Donald, of Linton, North Dakota.; two brothers: Terry Howard and wife Debbie of Grove, and Don Howard of Fayetteville, Arkansas; 14 grandchildren: Matt Barnard and wife, Joy, Melissa Blevins, Kenton Jackson and wife, Meagan, Shye, Austin, Nik and Anna Hulse, Allera and Akaidia Amendolara, Tyler Marie and Logan Pattie, John and Crystal Jackson, Shaeli and Brett Ekstein and Elizabeth Stoppler; and nine great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Nevaeh and Charlie Barnard, Kallen Blevins, Maddox, Shaianne and Brittany Jackson, and Michelle and Christian Halverson. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Wanda Lou Howard, a brother, Dennis Ray Howard, and a great-grandson, Daetin Charles Blevins. Memorial services will take place at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 21, at Grace Harbor Baptist Church in Grove, with Rev. Marty Hughes officiating. Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
