Terry Burge

Dr. Terry E. Burge Dr. Terry E. Burge, M.D., 74, resident of Bartlesville, passed away on May, 20, 2007 while visiting relatives in Mooresville, North Carolina. Dr. Burge worked as a physician in the Bartlesville, and Nowata areas since moving here from Michigan in 1982. He also loved working with his cattle on his ranch in Bartlesville. Terry Eugene Burge was born on December 29, 1932, in Campbell, Missouri. He married his high school sweetheart, Martha Joan Goodman in the fall of 1950. Together they worked hard getting their college degrees with Terry graduating from the University of Missouri Medical School at Columbia in 1962, and interning at Pontiac, Michigan. He worked in private family practice for 20 years in Michigan, and in later years focused on training Family Practice resident physicians. Surviving are his wife, Martha Joan Burge; three children, Rev. David Burge of Kirbyville, Missouri and his wife Dian, Gretchen (Burge) Snider of Chelsea and her husband Stanley, and Sarah (Burge) Gagan of Bartlesville. Dr. Burge has six grandchildren, Adele and Micah Burge, Maria and Laura Snider, and Susannah and Dorothy Gagan. Survivors also include sister, Margaret (Burge) Auten and her husband Eugene of Mooresville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Truett and Vera Burge, and brother, Charles Burge. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007, at 2 p.m., in the Benjamin Funeral home Chapel, in Nowata, with Pastor Mark Carter of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bartlesville officiating. Graveside service will follow at the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Anyone wishing to send a memorial contribution is encouraged to give to the Salvation Army in lieu of flowers.
