Terry Lyons

Terry Lee Lyons, Colcord resident, died early Thursday December 11, 2009 at the age of 57. He was born on November 11, 1952 in Tahlequah, OK to his parents Bill "Scout" Lyons and Dennie (Warren) Lyons. Terry grew up and attended Tahlequah schools where he graduated high school. Terry worked as a produce supervisor at Save-A-Lot grocery as well as working at Price Cutters. Terry and Alice (Gatewood) were married on April 12, 2002 in Siloam Springs after being together for many years. Terry was an avid Elvis fan who enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing Skip-Bo with family and friends; he also enjoyed going to flea markets as well as yard sales. Terry was preceded in death by his mother. He leaves many loving memories with his family, wife, Alice, of the home; a son, Tony, of Colcord; a brother, Bill Lyons, of Peggs, OK; 2 grandchildren, Abbie Gail and Trenton Lyons, of Colcord. Casket Bearers will be Melvin Ames, Matt Dewey, Michael Dewey, Jerry Payne, Jose Perez, and Norman Gatewood. Honorary bearers will be Marty Thompson and Caleb Payne. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay. Viewing will be Monday from 1:00PM - 4:00 PM at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday at Johnson Cemetery east of Colcord with Chaplain Darrell Self officiating.
