Tomma Jo Egnor (Giles), 67 year old Vinita resident passed away Monday, June 29, 2015. She was born August 14, 1947, to Kenneth (Punkin) and Wilma Giles in Vinita, OK. Tomma Jo grew up in Vinita, and graduated Vinita High School in 1965. Tomma Jo married Butch Egnor on July 13, 1968 in Vinita. Together they raised three children all of whom graduated from Vinita High School. She worked for the State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services until she retired in 1996. She then worked for Vinita Public Schools as an Employment & Training Consultant and established a program called Project Work. Tomma Jo was a devoted wife, loving mother and Mimi, cherished friend and co-worker, and an outstanding member of the community. She was her kids and grandkids number one fan attending all sporting events, graduations, church events, school dances, and house moves. Tomma Jo loved to garden and tend to her flowers, playing catch with her grandchildren. She was an avid Sooners, Cardinals, Thunder and Hornet fan and loved to attend or watch any games she could. She enjoyed traveling and bowling with her husband and dear friends and took yearly vacations to the beach with her family. Tomma Jo was passionate about the kids she worked with in Vinita and cared for them as if they were her own. She was able to brighten the kids' and teachers' days at VHS when she walked in the room. She coached little league softball to not only her own children but others in the community as well. She was also the VHS softball coach for several years. Tomma Jo is survived by her husband Butch Egnor of Vinita, her daughter Stephanie Allen and husband Cory and their children Jake, Abi and Bo of Allen, TX, her daughter Shanna Rierson and husband Paul and their children Kamryn, Zoie, and Ben of Broken Arrow, OK, her son Jason Egnor and wife Kristina and their children Alivia, Brody, and one on the way of Stillwater, OK, and sister Billye Jean Watkins of Vinita. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved dearly. Tomma Jo is preceeded in death by her parents, Kenneth (Punkin) and Wilma Giles, her sister Barbara Watkins, her brother Kenneth Lee (Buddy) Giles, and brother- in-law Ronnie Watkins. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Craig County Fairgrounds Community Building, with Pastor Henry "Skip" McClain officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita. Friends may give to the Hornet Scholarship Fund in Tomma Jo's Memory at the Oklahoma State Bank in Vinita.
