Tracy Rochelle Mayhew, 60 years old, gained her wings and went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Oklahoma Heart Institute in Tulsa, OK. Tracy was born on February 9, 1964, in Wichita, KS to Janet (Mayhew) Owens and William White. When Tracy was 3 years old her father passed and shortly after they moved back to Alluwe, Oklahoma to be close to family. A few years later, Janet met her husband, Ricky Owens who helped raise Tracy since she was 6 years old.
Tracy attended school at Alluwe and Nowata over the years and was active in Basketball. She enjoyed playing basketball and skating and was really good at both. Tracy would go skating every Sunday night. She even met Tamara’s father at the skating rink. He was the best skater to ever come out of Wichita and that is what caught Tracy’s eye. Tracy loved to dance, while in Kansas she would learn all the new dances and take them back to Oklahoma and teach her friends and cousins. She won many dance contests at the “Showagon” Tracy also liked to hang out at the “Hut” and pay her baby brother a quarter to dance. She would get word that Cousin Gail got a new forty-five and would go straight to her house and listen to them on repeat.
Later Tracy attained her GED and attended community college at Metro Tech in Omaha, Nebraska where she became licensed to be a Certified Nurse assistant. She worked as a CNA orientator at Saint Joseph Villa. Then went back to school at American Intercontinental in Atlanta for business administration and healthcare management and later attended Colorado Tech to become a Certified Coding Specialist.
Tracy had three children. Her first born, Tamara Roshawn with the late Kaylan Pruitt. A couple of years later, Tracy and Michael Saxton Sr. had two children, Dedria Michelle, and Michael Lynn Saxton Jr. She loved her children and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Over the years, Tracy has lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and finally put down roots in Omaha, Nebraska. This is where she met and married the love of her life Jesse Brodrick.
Tracy loved people and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She was always helping a friend in need or someone less fortunate than her. She loved braiding hair. And was known to feed everyone from momma Jan’s refrigerator as a youngster.
Tracy cherished her family and was the life of the party when they all got together. She had a flair for fashion and always had a style of her own. She enjoyed traveling to California and had a mad love for her little dog “Misty” She shared a big smile and her big personality everywhere she went. Her zest for life was unparalleled. She had an unshakable conviction that individuals are extremely important and every life mattered. Small changes added up to her and nothing was too little. Tracy will forever be remembered for her big smile and her endless love for her family.
