Velma Davis

Vinita, OK - Velma L. Davis, 80, died Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Bellflower Medical Center, Bellflower, California. Velma was born January 10, 1927 at Bellflower, California to Earl Ross and June (Bower) Ross. She married Dexter Davis of Vinita, the love of her life, on February 6, 1970 and Encinada, California. The couple lived in Vinita for 15 years. While living in Vinita, Velma worked as a cook for Eastern State Hospital. She returned to California after the death of Mr. Davis on December 11, 1991. Survivors include a son, Brad Vandenberg of Bellflower, California; four grandchildren, Tom, Jessie, Anneke and Andy; and one great-grandchild, Haden. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Randall Guthrie and a daughter, Bambi Hayward. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Vinita's Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita.
