Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555..... Velma Louise Frazer, 90 year old Bird Island resident, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 1, 2017. Velma was born in Kansas City, KS on October 12, 1926 to Floyd and Gertrude Davis. In 1948 she proudly graduated from the Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. The following year she completed her Post Graduate in Obstetrical Nursing and Management. In 1952 she was united in marriage to Robert A. "Bob" Frazer and together they raised 3 sons. Velma worked as a registered nurse serving as the head of nursery and deliver as well as taught nursing in the Kansas City area. She continued her nursing career working at St. Francis in Tulsa for numerous years. Through the Women's Outreach Program at St. John's Episcopal Church she started the Bundles for Babies Program. She was a P.E.O. member as well as a book club member. Survivors include her three sons: Dana Frazer of Memphis, TN, Blane Frazer of Tulsa, OK, and Kirk Frazer of Louisville, KY, and one granddaughter Sarah Frazer. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob Frazer, one brother Charles Davis, and one sister Wilma Meeker. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the St. John's Episcopal Church with Father Phil Lawrence officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
