Velma Newman

Velma Y. Newman, age 55, died Saturday December 13, 2008 at Craig General Hospital in Vinita. She was born June 19, 1953 in Vinita, OK the daughter of Charles Copeland and Erma (Parks) Copeland. She was reared and educated in Vinita and Lewis, KS. She attended Immanuel Temple in Vinita and worked several years at King Louie in Adair as a seamstress and loved spending time with her family. She and Harvey Brown were married in May of 1973. Harvey and her parents preceded her in death. Velma leaves behind one daughter, Tammy Wilcutt, one grandson Richard Wilcutt of the home in Vinita, eight brothers and sisters, Rosetta and her husband Ray D. Newman of Vinita, Patty and husband Jerry Rather of Locust, Grove, Charles and his wife Judy Copeland of Vinita, Mary Jane and Michael Malott of Vinita, Matthew Copeland of Vinita and Bill Copeland and wife Lena of Vinita and John Copeland of Vinita, a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday December 18, 2008 at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita with Pastor Justin Turner officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
