Vicki Forrest

Vicki Jo Forrest, age 63, and longtime resident of Copan, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013, in the Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Vicki Jo Edwards was born on January 30, 1949 in Bartlesville. She was the daughter of Gaston Dale Edwards and Ruth Ann (Brown) Edwards. She was raised and received her education in the Copan area where she graduated high school in 1967. Vicki and Wendell Forrest were married on June 24, 1968. They had two children, Nikki and Chris. She was a mother and homemaker while the children were young. In 1979, Vicki became employed with the Copan school system where she was the secretary for the superintendent of Copan Schools. She retired after more than 25 years. Her husband, Wendell, preceded her in death on August 26, 1999. Vicki was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her children and grandchildren and all of the family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, reading, and cooking. She also loved spending time with her grandkids and taking trips with the girls of the "Corner Sew and So". She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wendell; sister, Randy Brown; brother, Dee Edwards; brothers-in-law, Floyd Forrest and Walter Coonfield; and niece and nephew, Sandy and Andy Edwards. She is survived by her two children, Nikki Little and her husband, Brian, of Wann, Oklahoma, and Chris Forrest and his wife, Candise, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Sage Miller, McKenna Little and Austin Butler; sister, Donna Forrest of Copan; brother, Danny Edwards and his wife, Donna, of Ark City, Kansas; brothers-in-law, Dr. Wallace Coonfield of Vinita, Oklahoma, and Jimmy Brown of Copan; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends, as well as special friends of the "Sew and So". In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested contributions in Vicki's name can be made to the Copan Schools Scholarship Fund, Attention Bonnie May, P.O. Box 429, Copan, OK 74022.
