Vickie (Parrett) Casey

Vickie Diane “Parrett” Casey, 65, of Nowata, Oklahoma passed away on December 30, 2022, at the Journey Home is Bartlesville, Oklahoma, surrounded by her girls. She was born on January 25, 1957, in Nowata, Oklahoma, to Charles and Betty Jo “Price” Parrett. She attended Childers school 1st grade-5th grade, Alluwe school 6th grade-12th grade. She graduated as the class Salutatorian, basketball Homecoming Queen, basketball starting point guard, Most Cooperative, and cosmetology school.

After graduation, she was a meter reader for PSO. On October 10, 1980, she married. Bill Spaid of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and they had two girls, Charee McGovern and Chandee Hawk. Later, Vickie started working as an inspector for quality control at Oil Dynamics in Tulsa, which later became Central Lift. Central Lift was then bought out by Baker Hughes. Vickie remained with the company until 2016, when she decided to retire after 35 years. At work, Vickie was nick named “Picky Vickie.”

They later divorced. She married Alan Casey of Ochelata, Oklahoma, in September of 1999.

Vickie enjoyed in younger days rodeoing and dancing. She enjoyed spending time with her girls and her grandchildren. She loved shopping for purses. She was at any sports events, rodeos or live stockshows the grandchildren were at. She loved her dog, “Clyde!” Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, she loved going to Branson; shopping and looking at all of the Christmas lights. She loved the Hallmark channel. She was a Big OU Fan! She loved collecting goose berry cookbooks, “but never used them.” (:

Vickie is survived by her girls; Charee McGovern of Nowata, OK, and Chandee and Allen Hawk of Nowata, OK. Grandson; Ty McGovern of Nowata, OK, Granddaughter; Chesnee McGovern of Nowata, OK, Grandsons; Jace and Jagger Hawk of Nowata, OK, Granddaughter; Krissy Hawk of Big Cabin, OK, and great-granddaughter; Avery Prock of Big Cabin, OK, one sister; Brenda and husband Dee Waltman of Nowata, OK, one brother; Charlie and wife, Shawna of Nowata, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend, Debbie Tyner.

Vickie is preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Betty Jo “Price” Parrett, parental grandparents; Bill and Maude Parrett, and maternal grandparents; Harvey and Maehana Price.

We want to Thank two very special ladies that has been taking care of our Momma, Whitney and Sammi!

A special Thank-you to Choice Hospice and all their staff from the bottom of our heart for taking such good care of our Momma!

Very special Thanks-you to the Journey Home, where our Momma was blessed to live out her final moment there!
