Wanda Lee Wicks

Wanda Lee Wicks, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 30, 2024. Wanda was born in Braggs, Oklahoma on October 28th, 1935. Her family soon moved to Lenapah, Oklahoma where she attended grade school and high school, graduating from Lenapah High School in 1952. Wanda went to Coffeyville College for a semester before joining CRA Refinery (now Farmland Industries). She worked for Farmland Industries until her retirement in 1998. 

She enjoyed photography and traveling in her youth. She was also a member of the Cherokee tribe. Wanda was also active in her local church and served as secretary for the Lenapah United Methodist Church for many years. 

Wanda is survived by her sister, Sammie Lilburn of Lenapah; nephew Kevin and Sherri Lilburn of Stillwater; nephew Larry Lilburn and Jeanine West of Muskogee; grandnephew Brett and Cala Lilburn and great grandnephew Daniel Lilburn of Wagoner; grandniece Arica Lilburn of Neosho, Missouri; grandniece Tasha and Joe Porter of Stillwater; grandnephew Alex Zelesnikar of Oklahoma City. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Huie A. and Myrtle Wicks of Lenapah. 

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the Mt. Washington Cemetery, Lenapah, Oklahoma. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemoriesnowata.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata.
