Wesley Dean Collins

Wesley Dean Collins was a greatly beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Wes passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 27, 2024, at the Veterans Center in Claremore, Oklahoma.

Wesley was born in Borger, Texas, on September 24, 1929, to Floyd and Bertha Collins. As a child, Wes moved with his family to Childers, Oklahoma. After high school, Wes enlisted in the Air Force. He served during the Korean War and was given an honorable discharge.

Wesley married his wife, Edith on June 25, 1955, in Nowata, Oklahoma. They were blessed with three children: Roger Collins of Westville, OK; Cindy (Collins) Lowe of Tulsa, OK; and Chris Collins of Upperville, VA. Wes was employed for 45 years with the National Zinc Company. Wes and Edith called Bartlesville home from 1960 until 2005, when they relocated to the Blum Farm in Nowata. Wes and Edith both were devout Catholics and were members at St. John Catholic Church in Bartlesville from 1966-2005. They attended St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Nowata from 2005 until the present time.

Wes was proceeded in death by wife: Edith, his mother: Bertha, and his father: Floyd.

Family survivors include his two sons: Roger and Chris; his daughter: Cindy; his 6 grandchildren; and his 7 great-grandchildren, along with his sister: Carol of Kansas. He will be greatly missed by all.

A rosary service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, January 3, 2025, followed by funeral mass at 12:30 PM at the St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Nowata, Oklahoma. Interment will follow the funeral mass at the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service.
