He was born on February 6, 1947 in Blue Ball, Arkansas to William T. and Syble Juanita (James) Tidwell. He moved to Nowata in the 4th grade and graduated from Nowata High School in 1965. On December 30, 1972 Willie married the love of his life, Marilyn Sue Swadley. Willie was a salesman for American Electric Company and loved his job. His customers were very important to him and he made many friends through his interaction with his customers. As he developed health problems and he was forced to retire Willie really missed his customers and friends. After a period Willie was able to find a new group of people that he loved and cared for, the morning crew at the Bliss. He loved to laugh and carry on with his friends and you always knew he would be there for them when needed. Willie also loved coaching and umpiring baseball here in Nowata. He developed a lifetime friendship with many of his players and followed many of their careers as they moved on to their adult lives. He never forgot them. Willie was a member of the First Baptist Church. Often Willie could be found fishing or watching OU sports. He loved the Sooners and followed any sport they were involved in but especially the Football team. Willie liked to dabble with woodworking when he had time. Above all that Willie did, his family was at the top. His wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, and sisters always had a special place in his heart. He especially loved the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him "BoBo". BoBo will be missed by all who knew him. Willie is survived by his wife, Marilyn Sue Tidwell of the home; a daughter, Allison Barrett and husband Clint of Round Rock, Texas; his precious grandchildren, Hunter and Cassie Barrett, brother, David Tidwell of Nowata, Oklahoma; a sister, Tommy Joyce "sis" Embree and husband S. Dee of Nowata, Oklahoma; a sister in law, Barbara Tidwell of Nowata, Oklahoma. Willie is preceded in death by his son, Jamey Tidwell and his parents, William and Juanita Tidwell, and two brothers, Robert Tidwell and Richard Tidwell.
