Wilma Irene McGuirk, 75 year old resident of Welch, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at her home. She was born on June 21, 1938 in Craig County to Walter Morris Doan and Vera Irene (Dick) Doan. Wilma married John McGuirk on August 18, 1975 in Chetopa, Kansas. She was a member of the Community Bible Church in Chetopa. She had worked as a seamstress at the sewing factories in Chetopa, Oswego, Commerce and Parsons; she also had worked at King Louie Manufacturing and Shangri-La Resort. Wilma liked doing crossword puzzles, reading her bible and spending time with her grandchildren. The family includes: her husband John of the home, children, Jerri Raydene Cooksey and Matt Brown both of Welch; sisters, Donna LaPee of Chetopa, Louetta Gaut of Vinita, Rosetta Doan of Oswego, Rita McGuirk of Chetopa; five grandchildren, Chandra Hodge, Jacob Fletcher, Danielle Fletcher, Kaytlyn Brown, Lindsey McDonald, Samuel Brown; great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Samantha Hodges. She was preceded in death by two children, Nancy Irene Brown, Donna Marie Fletcher; a brother, Albert Doan; two grandsons, Adam Christopher Perrick and James Matthew Fletcher. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Luginbuel Chapel in Vinita. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Bible Church in Chetopa, with Pastor Randy Frazier officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery east of Chetopa. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
